Course description:
An introduction to the manipulation of landform and water in the urban context, studied through digital fabrication and metrics.
Estimated TA support: 80 hours per tutorial section

Lecture - Tuesday, 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Tutorials - Tuesday, 5:00pm - 6:00pm

Salary (per half-course, inclusive of vacation):
Sessional Lecturer I: $ 9,820.70
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $ 10,510.04
Sessional Lecturer II $ 10,510.04
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $ 10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III: $ 10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $ 11,030.36
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture (or related design discipline) and relevant professional experience in design.
Preferred Qualifications:
We are seeking applicants with a professional degree in landscape architecture (Master’s or Bachelor’s) and a record of teaching landscape architectural design at the undergraduate or graduate level. Knowledge of topography and hydrology is strongly valued, as is demonstrated experience in landscape architecture practice. Demonstrated design excellence is desired and will be evaluated through consideration of professional experience, design awards (if applicable), and a 1-2 page portfolio.
Description of duties:
The successful candidate will lead this upper-year undergraduate course and fulfill normal duties associated with the design and teaching of university degree courses. These may include the preparation and delivery of course content, including lectures and/or seminars; the development and administration of assignments, tests and examinations; the marking and grading of student work and the submission of grades to appropriate University officials in accordance with policy; the maintenance of reasonable hours of student contact outside of scheduled contact hours; and the supervision of the day-to-day work of any Teaching Assistants assigned to the course. There is no expectation of or requirement for research or administrative service.
