Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and safety-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team as an Order Processor. This full-time position is essential to the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse, focusing on the careful handling, accurate movement, and organization of inventory. Primary Duties
-Operate forklifts and other material handling machinery in a safe and efficient manner to facilitate the movement of goods within the warehouse and loading docks.
-Manage the loading and unloading process of inbound and outbound shipments, verifying items against shipping and receiving documents to ensure accuracy and detect any damages.
-Pick, pack, and label orders meticulously following established procedures to prepare shipments that meet quality standards and customer specifications.
-Conduct regular inventory audits, including cycle counts and spot checks, promptly reporting any discrepancies or issues to warehouse management to maintain inventory integrity.
-Maintain an orderly warehouse environment by organizing materials, optimizing storage layouts, and ensuring that safety and cleanliness protocols are consistently followed.
-Adhere strictly to company safety policies and OSHA regulations to prevent accidents and create a safe working environment for all team members.
-Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure operational targets are achieved and workflow remains uninterrupted.
-Identify and promptly report any equipment malfunctions, hazards, or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel to mitigate risks.
-Participate in ongoing training sessions and safety meetings to stay current with operational best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
-Demonstrated proficiency in operating forklifts and handling equipment within fast-paced warehouse or distribution center settings, with a commitment to safety and precision.
-Comprehensive understanding of warehouse safety guidelines, coupled with a strong focus on maintaining a zero-accident workplace.
-Ability to accurately read and interpret shipping manifests, inventory databases, and operational instructions to ensure smooth processing and minimal errors.
-Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail, facilitating precise order fulfillment and inventory management.
-Physical endurance to perform repetitive lifting, prolonged standing, and moving tasks efficiently while adhering to ergonomic standards.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills that promote teamwork and effective information exchange among staff.
-Willingness and flexibility to work various shifts, including extended hours during peak periods to support operational demands.
-Proactive problem-solving attitude and the ability to adapt to evolving warehouse environments and technologies.
Education / Experience
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Candidates must possess a valid forklift operator certification or demonstrate willingness to obtain certification immediately upon employment. Previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics is highly advantageous and will be favorably considered.
