Primary Function
Electronic Systems NPD is a key member of the Electronic Systems Engineering team, responsible for leading the development and delivery of customized electronic control solutions for residential and commercial water heaters, boilers, and heat pumps. This role combines strong technical expertise in embedded electronic controls with project leadership to ensure successful execution of new product development initiatives.

Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution

-Lead custom embedded electronic control projects through the full development lifecycle, from concept to production.
-Define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables while working hands-on with engineering teams to align resources, share knowledge, and drive seamless execution—balancing project leadership with direct ownership of key deliverables
-Drive design reviews and technical discussions, providing leadership and clear decision-making.

Systems & Technical Development

-Translate product requirements into system specifications, architecture, and detailed documentation.
-Support the design and integration of sensor inputs/outputs, temperature control logic, and serial communications.

Validation & Compliance

-Develop and execute test and validation plans to ensure product reliability, safety, and performance.
-Ensure designs comply with regulatory standards.
-Participate in risk analysis and mitigation activities, including FMEA/DFMEA.
Documentation & Knowledge Management

-Maintain thorough documentation of requirements, designs, and validation results.
-Build and maintain libraries of system specifications and architecture for current and future projects.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

-Mentor early-career engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices.
-Support continuous improvement efforts by exploring new tools, methods, and technologies.

Basic Qualifications
--Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (ABET accreditation preferred).
-5+ years of experience in electronic systems development, with a focus on embedded control systems for hardware/firmware integration.
-Strong understanding of temperature control systems, sensor integration, and serial communication protocols.
-Experience defining and maintaining system-level requirements, architecture, and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
-Familiarity with embedded hardware and firmware development processes and system-level design.
-Proven ability to contribute as both a project leader and an individual contributor.
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
-Familiarity with Agile or hybrid development processes for hardware, firmware, and software.
-Prior experience with water heating, boilers, or HVAC control systems.
-Knowledge of reliability engineering, root cause analysis, and risk management tools (FMEA/DFMEA)
